Sandbox Packaging and Import

Post by dleslie » Sat Feb 27, 2010 1:26 pm

I'm using Sandboxie primarily to store application configuration state. You see, I really don't enjoy installing/reinstalling with each new PC, or each time I reinstall, or each time I replace a drive. These events occur about twice a year, so having a solution to porting application state across installs is quite welcome.

But Sandboxie isn't -quite- there yet, it needs a slick way to:
1) Package a Sandbox for long term storage
2) Import a packaged Sandbox
3) Redirect a Sandbox to be stored outside of the default Sandbox directory (Say, on a USB thumb drive).

Ideally also:
4) Restore filetype associations for default application execution in Windows

I'm new to Sandboxie, so if there is a way to do this please let me know, it'd be much appreciated.

With respect to your point number 3, you can manually edit the configuration file:

*bump* and support!

I would really appreciate an export/import functionality for sandboxes!

Thank you for considering!
