Hi
Like Voyager, I found the error message SBIE2205 popping up just after an update to v 6.0 of my Portable Firefox this morning.

I have followed the instructions to reduce the sandbox content level to 2 (mine was set at 5 originally) and I can once again use my Sandboxied Firefox :)

I am using Sandboxie v5.24 (64 bit) Win 10

firefox 60 final OOB, and not beta comes with security.sandbox.content.level 5, i think it needs to be mentioned...
I lowered level to 2 and everything works fine inside sandboxie

There's now a standalone topic about this. To quote from it:

What you wrote fixed it for me too, thanks!

But Sandboxie's powers that be, can you fix it in Sandboxie itself? It sounds pretty identical to the recent Chrome incident, which too started out by initially lowering the browser's defenses, but eventually was solved within Sandboxie itself.

I can confirm, the fix works. I disable Multiprocess and set my security.sandbox.content.level to 0. But I just tested 5.25.4 by running the Firefox profile manager sandboxed to create a new Firefox profile. Now, you can, before this version, it couldn't be done. I had tried creating a new Firefox profile sandboxed after Firefox 60 was released and couldnt do it. Nice fix.

After Restart my PC I still get "SBIE2209 SID konnte nicht an Benutzer übergeben werden: [22 / 1332]" with 5.25.4.

5.25.4 fixed the firefox bug now without needing to change the default firefox sandbox level, so thanks for that, it has also cured this annoying icon glitch I've been having there the icon of some programs would show blank in the windows taskbar, but now wit this beta they show proper, so great!

Is a new Stable release around the corner by chance?

My second PC is not affected anymore with 5.25.4 after Restart. I don't know the difference, both have the same configuration, only different hardware, so some different drivers, that's all IMO. I don't use FF.

EDIT: okay, the SBIE2209 message appeared now suddenly during using Microsoft Edge on the second PC. Mail was opened, too. Both programs of course don't run sandboxed, no program ran sandboxed when the Popup came.

after update steam client issues this error 4 times. I think the problem is due to the fact that it updated Chromium v65.0.3325.181

Gladly it solves GSOD on Win 10 x64 17672.1000, however it gives me these when trying to start any program:
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service DcomLaunch (C0000022)
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service DcomLaunch (C0000022)
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service DcomLaunch (C0000022)
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service DcomLaunch (C0000022)

After that Start.exe as well as SandboxieRpcSs.exe remains in Sandbox.

If there's more information I can provide, let me know.

All,

Latest Win 10 Insider/FR version supported by beta 5.25.4 is v17666 . If you update to newer versions, expect to see new problems.
Fixes will be uploaded as they become available.

As for the startup error -SBIE2209- , still unable to repro. Are there any special characters on your accounts? Can I get some examples of account names that are triggering this problem?

Regards,
Barb.-

To be honest I regret to be in Windows Insider Program which prevent me from using this wonderful software. But there is no way back...

My windows account is actually my email address (emc###@edited.edited) , which is cut off by windows so username is actually "emc23", thus no special characters, I think.
I also disabled all virus protection, all exploit protection, and memory integrity as well as virtual-based security. No luck.
If there's anything else I can do, just let me know.

Moderator note: Edited parts of the email address.

Hello xydustc ,

I have updated my previous response for clarification. I was asking more information from users who are receiving SBIE2209, related to a SID error.
The latest supported Insider version is v17666 . We are aware of issues with newer ones, and once fixes are found, we will update this thread.

Barb.-
