Windows account is a Microsoft account. In history I changed my local account (first name) to a Microsoft account (Email). The greeting window shows first name and surname, C:\Users shows the first Name as before. After boot I always be automaticly logged in to my Microsoft account as a restricted user, there is a second administrator account. No special characters.

Hello,

When updating Opera developer browser to version 55 the browser crashes with Page Crashed message. No pages or tabs will load.

Sandboxie gives error:
SBIE2224 Sandboxed program has crashed: opera.exe [DefaultBox]

I have deleted all contents from the sandbox and even tried in a newly created sandbox.
I am using Comodo Internet Security but have followed your advise and added the Sandboxie processes to the exclusion list for shell code injections.
I have also tried opening Opera under the supervision of Sandboxie with Comodo disabled.
I have updated Sandboxie to Beta Version 5.25.4 but the problem is exists.
I am using the --no-sandbox flag in the Opera shortcut.

Opera have updated to Chromium version 67.0.3396.18 in version 55 of their browser.

The browser works perfectly well outside of Sandboxie.

Kind regards,
Ed.

All,

Please refer to the first post in this thread, which includes the latest supported Windows Insider version .
Using newer versions than the supported one, will most likely cause issues with Sandboxie.

Also, there are standalone threads regarding Opera issues (especially with Windows 10). Please search the forums prior to posting an issue that is not beta related.

Regards,
Barb.-

Excuse me... How am I suppose to know if it is related to Opera or W10 or SB Beta? Sorry but I am not an expert!
A guessing, I think this error isn't related to Opera at all because I tried with Edge, Chrome, Vivaldi and Opera with the same result.
But you are right (I guess) in one thing, perhaps it is related to W10 b17672 and not SB 5.25.4 beta.

My intention was not to complain about SB beta but, to inform you that there was one problem.

Sincerely,
JG

Hey Developers,

I did a virus scan of this beta version 5.25.4 on virustotal.com and it found a trojan in it. Why is there a trojan in your file? Are you looking to spy on people or something?

We are starting to loose trust in your software because of that now.

Hello HiTechLover ,

This is a recurring problem with some AV vendors listed in virustotal. If you are downloading Sandboxie directly from our website, you will be fine.
Obviously, we are not putting malware in our software, we are a security company.

Here are some examples of the above mentioned False Positives:
viewtopic.php?p=132919#p132919
viewtopic.php?p=132279#p132279

There isn't much we can do as most of those AV vendors will either close the requests, or won't even take them unless you are a customer.

Regards,
Barb.-

HiTechLover, its been like that forever. You dont have to worry about nothing. The All installer usually doesn't get flagged by any scanner. So, you can run that one if it makes you feel more comfortable. Myself, I rather run the separate installer even though it gets flagged by some scanners. The flagging by scanners would be concerning if we saw more and more scanners detecting the SBIE installers as time went on, but that never happens. Also, well known antiviruses like Avast, Avira, Trend, Sophos, AVG, Kaspersky, Norton, dont flag Sandboxie. None of the antiviruses that are considered to have a good reputation flag SBIE.

Windows 1803 build 17134.81, SB 5.25.4. Was the same before today's Windows update.

Hi Henry, I updated last night to 17134.81, I never seen that message, before or after the update. I dont know if it means anything but I am using an Administrator account. For my knowledge, when does Sandboxie issue that message for you?

Hi Bo

I got the error message on Windows start-up, so presumably when the service is started. That is on my laptop, [Edit] but my desktop pc is ok even after being updated - both now on 171343.81. I've given up on the Insider Program; too much grief for too little reward IME. I'll live with the error message in the hope that something changes and it goes away - seems to work ok still.

I too use Admin accounts. Naughty us

All,

We are still trying to repro that SID error. So far, no luck.
We will update this thread if anything new comes up.

Here are 2 old related threads that may help:

I had this issue somewhat recently after I changed my computer name (host name). I also had my sandboxes isolated to specific users and changing the host name broke this lookup. Just deleting the user and re adding to the sandbox fixed the issue.

Update
Unistalling & reinstalling SB made no differnce, but when I deleted my ini file and allowed SB to create a new one the error rmessages disappeared. I'll try to reinstate the missing sections/Sandboxes and settings when I have time.

When I copy across one of my sandboxes to the ini file the problem recurrs. Wasn't able to pin it down, and no time for line-in/line-out testing.
