Enhanced internet access restrictions

Post by TheEasterner » Wed May 30, 2018 6:19 am

Currently Sandboxie allows individual programs to be disallowed internet access in the Restrictions -> Internet Access section.
This feature is immensely useful but breaks certain programs that use local client-server architecture to communicate between processes.

If possible I would like for an intermediate option in the internet restrictions settings that allows localhost access, i.e. requests to ip addresses between 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.255.255 are not restricted.

Thanks!

Just use a Firewall. I hear Windows has one.

Windows firewall is unable to distinguish between the sandboxed application and the legitimate one.
Windows firewall fails on applications that have only been installed within the sandbox.

The IP range you provide is not localhost. If your router is sitting on 192.168.1.1 it can be infected. I agree an option should be provided to make an exception but just for 127.0.0.1.
