Error msg with ClosedFilePath setting v3.26

Post by Guest10 » Wed Apr 30, 2008 2:56 pm

When using the ClosedFilePath setting in this sandbox:
[Test]

Enabled=y
ConfigLevel=3
AutoRecover=y
AutoRecoverIgnore=.jc!
AutoRecoverIgnore=.part
RecoverFolder=%Favorites%
RecoverFolder=%Desktop%
LingerProcess=wuauclt.exe
LingerProcess=devldr32.exe
LingerProcess=syncor.exe
LingerProcess=jusched.exe
LingerProcess=acrord32.exe
ClosedFilePath=%Personal%

The path to My Documents is set as closed, but right-clicking Control, then
Test | Run Any Program | Browse...
gives an error message that My Documents can't be found. (I know, I closed that path)
Then the sandboxed "Open" window opens.

I'm sorry but I don't understand. Is there a problem here or are you simply communicating your experience with a closed My Documents folder?

When I click the Browse button, a window opens that says that the My Documents folder cannot be found, and advises me to right click the My Documents icon, then Properties, to check the path to that folder. Of course I get an audible error alert too.

I don't know why it's concerned that it can't find the My Documents folder - I didn't tell it to look for My Documents. I just clicked on Browse...

But the Browse button opens up My Documents. It does this whether or not you have the ClosedFilePath setting. Obviously then, if you did block access to My Documents, you will get an error.

OK, I understand. The Browse button is hard-coded to open the My Documents folder - hence the error, and the need to click OK since that path is closed. It then opens the Desktop folder, since it can't open My Documents.

Exactly. But this topic got me examining the Windows Start Menu Run... Browse button more carefully, and that one explores the folder one level above My Documents. So perhaps I should adjust the Run Any Program... Browse button to browse the same folder.
