I have tried it on both Home and Pro, and I only get the issue on Home.

Also, as reported in the other thread, typing in the Chrome address bar gets very laggy when Chrome is running sandboxed since the 72 update.

Interesting. Same here, and for me that's the only difference between the three machines that do have the issue and the one that doesn't.

I am seeing a similar error on Chrome 72 and Sandboxie 5.27.2 and 5.27.3. This is on a completely fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro.

Code: Select all

SBIE2101 Object name not found: \Device\NamedPipe\nod_scriptmon_pipe, error OpenFile (C0000022) access=0012019F initialized=1
SBIE2101 Object name not found: \Device\NamedPipe\nod_scriptmon_pipe, error OpenFile (C0000022) access=0012019F initialized=1
SBIE2101 Object name not found: \Device\NamedPipe\nod_scriptmon_pipe, error OpenFile (C0000022) access=0012019F initialized=1
Edit: Disabling hardware acceleration within the Sandboxed browser appears to fix it.

All,

I still cannot reproduce this issue, I re-tested a new installation of Sandboxie 5.27.3 + a new installation of Chrome 72 (Version 72.0.3626.96 (Official Build) (64-bit)). And I am not receiving any errors.

Can I get a copy of your Sandboxie.ini to see if there's anything different than mine?
Configure --> Edit configuration
Copy-paste the contents
Highlight the contents you just pasted in the forum response and click "</>" button to format them.

Also, we have a...similar thread .. for Dev and Beta versions of Chrome, one user posted this:
Disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome fixes it.
Can somebody test it and let me know if helps at all?

Thank you!
Barb.-
Disabling hardware acceleration helps somehow, but sometimes my chrome pages revert to about:blank ,so is not a good workaround.

Anyway, after a bit of testing it seems the problem steems from using an igpu (i7 6700 with no dedicated gpu in my case). Im not 100% sure of that tho, i could try to move my dedicated gpu to my igpu machine to be 100% sure, but im hoping you can do that kind of testing.

Hope that helped.

SBIE2101 Object name not found: \BaseNamedObjects\IGFXKMDNotifyBatchBuffersComplete, error OpenEvent (C0000022) access=0

Post by Professor_Maxxx » Mon Feb 11, 2019 7:19 pm

Hello,

1. Keep getting this error message when sandboxing (Sandboxie versions 5.27.2 and 5.28 RC) Chrome Version 72.0.3626.96 (Official Build) (64-bit) on a Windows 10, version 1809 last updated January 22, 2019—KB4476976 (OS Build 17763.292) laptop.

2. Get this when trying "About Chrome" in the sandboxed chrome: An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 3: 0x80080005 -- system level).

3. After sandboxing 2017 Outlook, clicking the links in the emails does not open the web pages in the sandbox chrome.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Plenty of us have this issue since Chrome 72.

Something changed in Chrome with the 72 release.

Disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome fixes it.

All,

1- Still unable to repro this on my host, or VMs. I've only got a handful of ini files, and so far, I have not seen anything in common or that can allow me to test the problem.

2 - Chrome cannot be updated inside Sandboxie, this is not new to Chrome 72 or Beta, please see this thread:

1. Please try this on a Windows 10 HOME version, not Win 10 PRO. This is the only difference between the machine I do not get the error on and the three I do. King Grub in this thread reports the same (fine on Pro, not on home). Someones else reported an error on Win10 Pro on this thread but the details of the error were different to everyone else on this thread.

2. I am aware of this, but you should still be able to check the version without errors. On my the machine I am not having the SBIE2101 error I can do this, but not the other 3 machines. There was no issue checking chrome's version prior to Chrome 72 on any of my machines under sandboxie.

Hi catspyjamas and all,

I have tested on several versions of Windows 10, Home and pro included. I have also tested on my dual gpu machine to launch Chrome with the integrated card (intel), as well as with the nvidia card, to no avail. I have ensured Hardware acceleration was on, and still no issues.
There is something else in place, but we haven't received enough details to figure it out yet.

For the time being, the workaround seems to be the way to go for the affected users.

Barb.-

Hello Barb,

I am aware of the workaround which is to copy the link from the sandboxed outlook and then paste it on the sandboxed chrome. The fact that I did not have to that before implies a change has occurred sometime after Windows 10, version 1809 and the Chrome updates. I have no issue when clicking on a non-sandboxed outlook email link which automatically opens a chrome tab if none already exists or ads a new tab on an already opened none sandboxed chrome.

Re: Chrome 72 SBIE2101 - [Workaround turn off hardware acceleration]

Post by markhweiss » Fri Feb 15, 2019 4:48 pm

I have a customer with Windows 10 Pro version 10.0.17134.590], Sandboxie 5.28, Google Chrome is up to date Version 72.0.3626.109 (Official Build) (64-bit)
The following error occurs:
SBIE2101 Object name not found: \BaseNamedObjects\IGFXKMDNotifyBatchBuffersComplete, error OpenEvent (C0000022) access=001F0003 initialized=1
SBIE2101 Object name not found: \BaseNamedObjects\IGFXKMDNotifyBatchBuffersComplete, error OpenEvent (C0000022) access=001F0003 initialized=1
SBIE2101 Object name not found: \BaseNamedObjects\IGFXKMDNotifyBatchBuffersComplete, error OpenEvent (C0000022) access=001F0003 initialized=1
If I turn off hardware acceleration, the error doesn't happen.

If you need any more info Barb, let me know.

Regards, Mark
