Sticky Password 8.2.0.206

Post by badbrain » Thu Oct 18, 2018 5:41 am

After updating Sticky Password to version 8.2.0.206, the icon of the autofill-addon in Firefox and Opera stays grey and doesn't work.
This happens in Windows 10 1809 17763.104 with Sandboxie 5.27.1.

Hi badbrain,

Please provide the repro steps as well as the missing information so that we can test it:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19746
Don't forget to include the templates that you are using for Sticky password, and wheter you are running it inside or outside Sandboxie.

Regards,
Barb.-

Sticky Password is running outside the sandbox and I'm running the latest stable/final versions of firefox and opera. The issue also occurs in a new Sandbox with default settings and I don't use any antivirus/anti-malware software. The option for not showning "#.....#" is set to on.

Code: Select all

There are quite a few unhappy users in the SP Forum following this update, with Firefox problems amongst others.

I have similar problems to you but I think at least some of them are down to SP, which was why I asked for my post on this subject to be removed. There may be SB issues too and it would be nice if the template could be reviewed.

All,

Can I get confirmation whether this program works 100% correctly outside Sandboxie at this time?
Because, if it doesn't, we won't be able to assist.

There's no problem when firefox or opera are started outside the sandbox.

Agreed but I only use Firefox. I have reverted to previous version and things back to normal.

There aren't any exact repro steps. Everything already posted:

Starting Browser (Firefox/Opera) not sandboxed = no problem

Hi badbrain,

Okay, I can see the issue.

For the time being, please run StickyPassword inside Sandboxie. I have tested that and it worked fine with Firefox.

I will update this thread if new info becomes available.

Barb.-

Thank you, but unfortunately this solution only works with Firefox 62.03. Tried this with the RC2 Build of Firefox 63 without success, so the problems with this version of StickyPassword won't stop, i think.

I'm using 63.0, and it doesn't work with SP sandboxed :( ...is what I intended to say.

Tried with and without the Template enabled as IME SP sometimes works without it when it won't with it, and vice versa. Never have been able to establish why or when.

The SP developer has issued a "special version" to deal with Firefox problems. At first I thought it didn't help, but it seems ok without drop-rights; only problem for me is that I use drop-rights!

I don't know if the "special version" is public so I don't feel able to share the download link, but you may be able to find StickyPassword_rev820206_7950.exe
