Thanks a lot Curt! This one finally DID the trick!
Btw, someone has been asking where in "sandboxie.ini" to paste that line. FYI, it worked for me at the end of the "Default Box" section.

Finally, may I ask you, Curt, if your time permits, to please elaborate a little bit what exactly this line does and why it has become necessary for this latest Opera-build? Over there at Opera-development it looks a lot as they would indulge in implementing unsolicited changes with every new build. :x

Thank you, all.

OpenIpcPath=*\Sessions\*\BaseNamedObjects\CrSharedMem_* combined with --no-sandbox in the Opera shortcut target worked for me.

Try adding the following line to your sandboxie.ini:

OpenIpcPath=*\Sessions\*\BaseNamedObjects\CrSharedMem_*

You will still need to run opera with the --no-sandbox option.
Thank you. It works.

Fixed in RC 5.26
Just for clarification - am I correct in assuming that with SB5.26-release the workaround-new-ini-line proposed by Curt is now obsolete?

Hello TomTom88 ,

The issue has been fixed in the latest Sandboxie release (5.26), so there is no need to manually add the entry in the Sbie configuration file anymore.
You can safely remove it from your Sandbox config.

Hi TomTom88,

While the workaround ini line entry is not required in SBIE 5.26 stable release, the “—no-sandbox” added to the desktop shortcut program launcher is still needed to play all websites embedded video and audio.

Adding to this - in Windows 10 with Sandboxie 5.26 the "-no-sandbox" still needs to be added to the desktop shortcut for any pages at all to load in Opera (latest stable release) - not just being able to play videos & audio as per the above reply. At least that is my experience after discovering I couldn't load anything other than white blank pages in Opera with Sandboxie 5.26 last night. Got it working again with the shortcut changes. Now Opera takes a long time to load initially, but once it does it all works fine.

Although I installed v5.26, I still have the problem of blank page when trying to open a webpage. Furthermore, for some reason the address bar does not display the web address of the webpage I try to load. It does not even show anything when I click on speed dial or settings etc...
There is no antivirus installed other than Windows Defender.
Do you have any idea for why I am having this problem?
If I do not run the Opera browser sandboxed, everything works fine.

Thank you in advance for your time and any advice given.

Windows Defender
Sandboxie 5.26.0.0
Opera 54.0.2952.71 64bit

Hello andrewstas,

You will need to add the workaround, as explained in the post before yours:
viewtopic.php?p=134341#p134341

For a step-by-step guide, see this post:
viewtopic.php?p=133439#p133439

Also, try deleting the contents of your Sandbox if the problem persists after applying the changes (or just try a new Sandbox with default settings: Sandbox--> Create new Sandbox. Give it a name, ensure the "copy settings" section at the bottom reads "none").

Regards,
Barb.-

It worked!
I am 100% sure I tried it before posting here. I cannot explain why it did not work at that time. Now it looks ok.
Thanks for the support and guidance.

I am having the same issue as "When sandboxed, Opera XX will not be able to load completely. Only blank page with the "loading" tab.".

Sandboxie 5.27.3 64-bit
Opera Version:58.0.3135.53 Stable
Windows 10 Home v1803 64-bit

I had originally tried this with the current Stable Sanboxie, but had the same issue, checked the forum and installed Beta 5.27. Everything is default, no command line switches.

Open Sandboxie Control
Drag the Opera icon into it
Opera starts but the window is blank

NOW, it does work with --no-sandbox, but there is no border around the app, so I am thinking it is NOT being sandboxed ? If it is,what does the switch do ?

OH, and Firefox is working fine.

Hi jack63ss@aol.com ,

The command disables Opera's own Sandbox, not sandboxie.
To see if an application i Sandboxed, you can find it Sandboxie Control, as well as with this:
https://www.sandboxie.com/FileMenu#iswindow

Barb.-
