Re: Unable to install latest version 5.24

Hello Peter980,

You are probably missing a Windows Update which can only be downloaded after SP1 is installed (but doesn't necessarily mean that if you have SP1, you have the KB/Update. You need to update Windows).
Please see the details in this thread:
viewtopic.php?p=132748#p132748

Keep in mind that some of these KBs are added to cumulative patches, thus you may not see the exact number but you may still have it installed on your system .

Let us know the outcome after installing the update as explained above.

Regards,
Barb.-

I'm using SP1 Win7 64. I don't use Windows updates and will never use Windows updates. But if you can point me to a specific update, I may install it. Where is this beta again? I didn't see a link.

It looks like update kb3033929 makes Sandboxie 5.24 work. Thanks.

It's been over two months since this problem was found..
Is there any estimation on when your are going to release a new version with a fix for this problem?

Hello guy213,

The only option at this time is the workaround provided here:
viewtopic.php?p=132748#p132748

We will update this thread if/when new information becomes available.

I had the signed driver problem and reinstalled using the combined 32/64 from link above, now all good again, thanks. It must be the driver in the new version somehow being tagged by windows verify.

What the hell?
You released a new version (5.26), and you haven't fixed this problem yet?

I paid for my sandboxie license, and it's just unacceptable that you don't give a crap about me and all other windows 7 users who paid for their license.

It has been 4 months since this problem was found, and you did nothing to fix this problem.

On top of that, you removed this thread from the announcement section, to make this thread go away, without having to fix the bug.

I'm waiting for your response about all of this..

Hello guy213,

The thread is Sticky, which means it will remain at the top of the Problem Reports section.

This is not an issue with Sandboxie itself, but with the fact that outdated versions of Windows 7 do not support double SHA-256 signatures. As stated, this is still under investigation and if/when new info becomes available, the thread will be updated.

The workarounds provided to you before should allow you to run Sandboxie in the meantime.

Regards,
Barb.-

All,

Here's the latest update:

Right now we don't have any plans to add a SHA-1 certificate.
We recommend to update Windows 7 to get support for SHA256 signatures (KB3033929 ).

Regards,
Barb.-

SHA1 is being phased out completely. You are going to have to update your system.
