Kindle Previewer 3 never opens

Kindle Previewer is a freeware from Amazon that allows to open, preview and convert various documents into the Amazon Kindle format.

I used to be able to install v2 sandboxed without a problem but after installing v3 sandboxed:
  1. No program pops up.
  2. Alt+Tab doesn't show the program.
  3. Task Manager does show it (with User name "ANONYMOUS LOGON").
  4. Sandboxie Control shows this:

  5. Installing v3 also installs v2, and it still works! The two versions have dual folders in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Amazon.

Hello lwc,

What are your OS, Antivirus and Sandboxie versions?
Does the issue occur in a new Sandbox with default settings?

Windows 10, none (only a manual on-demand one), v5.20.

Hello lwc,

I was able to repro the issue in Windows 10 x 64 CU, and couldn't find any workarounds ( I did not get version 2 installed after installing v3).

I'll make the devs aware and update this thread if anything comes up.

You're right, I guess I had leftovers when I thought my Sandboxie was previously deleted.
Anyway, Amazon's FAQ (in the aforementioned link) contains ("Can I continue using...?") a link for the last v2, if you want to compare.

Today is the one year anniversary to this problem report. You PMed me "If you need to update a thread, please search for it and post there requesting assistance so that we can follow-up", so here it is.
Is there still no solution? I also don't see it in https://www.sandboxie.com/KnownConflicts

I've tested it again and here are the latest specs per your requirements, which also asks (in bold) to bump existing topics if they're still not solved:
  1. The Windows version number? (i.e. Windows 7 32bit, 8.1 x64, etc) - 10 64-bit
  2. Sandboxie version number (SBIE v5.23.3? 5.22?) 5.26
  3. NAME & Version/build numbers of any applications involved? (Chrome v43, FF45 etc) Kindle Previewer 3.27
  4. Are you running antivirus/anti-malware software? (AVG, Live Essentials..etc) No
  5. What are the exact steps to reproduce the issue? (Launch app X, perform X actions, etc) I install Kindle Previewer sandboxed, then try to run it and nothing happens even though Sandboxie shows it running (see OP). Kindle Previewer v2 has no such problem.

Since it has been a year, why not mentioning it in https://www.sandboxie.com/KnownConflicts until a fix is found?
You can write something like "Solution: None (as of September 2017), but we're trying to find a fix - see forum link".

We are not adding it because it is not a priority at this time. Things have changed, please read my previous post for more information.
If/when a fix is found, this post will be updated.
