Hello iceberg,

I couldn't get your .bat file to work, but I tested opening an elevated CMD (sandboxed) and running bitsadmin /list in Win 10 CU. It failed with the error message Unable to connect to BITS - 0x8007042d .
Windows 7 did not present this behavior.

I will provide an update once the devs have a chance to look at this.

Still the same behavior after update to Windows 10 1709 and Sandboxie Beta 5.21.7

No news regarding this.
The current priority is getting a build out to fully support Windows 10 Creator's Fall Update, so the devs have been busy with that.

I will update this thread once new information becomes available.

Hi!

so after one month of last posting and release of 5.22: Any news or plans to change this behaviour?

Still the same with Windows 10 1709 and Sandboxie 5.22.

Hello iceberg,

I reached out to the devs and received the following information:

Regarding BITS, Chrome is the only big app that uses it along with Windows update. However, these updates will not work inside Sandboxie.

SandboxieBits.exe will work in Windows 7, that is expected and it explains why the command bitsadmin / list does not return an error. BITS will not work in SBIE past Win 7 (so 8.1 or 10 will trigger an error message).

At the moment, Bits' behavior is not a priority, therefore the devs are not looking at changing/modifying it.

I think it would be a good to have this information (that SandboxieBits.exe will work in Windows 7 and will not work in past Win 7) on your page https://www.sandboxie.com/ServicePrograms
