Xbox Controller not reconized

Post by Creave » Sat May 13, 2017 4:46 am

Most games have no problem detecting the Xbox controller but unfortunately there are a few Indie Games that just don't recognize the controller through the sandbox (but it works fine outside the sandbox).

I want to give the sandbox direct access to the controller via "OpenPipePath" but I don't know how to define it?! [\Device\?] :?:

Hello Creave,

What are your OS, Sandboxie and Antivirus versions?
What are the names of the games that you are trying to play?
Are you receiving any error messages?

Can you please post the output of your Resource Access Monitor?:

Thanks for your help!

OS: Windows 10 Pro x64
Sandboxie: 5.18
Antivirus: Windows Defender

No error messages at all when playing those games. Controller is just not recognized by small Indie Games (I tested 3 games) while running in a sandbox. But the controller works fine with big games like Call of Duty or Assassins Creed.

The log shows what happens if I start, wait a few seconds and then close the game "Kentucky Route Zero" while the controller is connected to the host:

Re: Xbox Controller not reconized

Post by Barb@Invincea » Tue May 16, 2017 5:20 pm

Hello Creave,

Does the issue occur in a new sandbox, with the default settings?
Is the controller connected via Bluetooth or wire?
Does it work outside Sandboxie?
Are there any free or demo versions that we can try?

Barb.-

Yes, the issue occurs even in a new sandbox with the default settings.
The controller is connected via Bluetooth.
Yes, it works perfectly outside Sandboxie.
Unfortunately it seems there is no free demo version.

Hello Creave,

The only things that I see in your Res. Acc. Mon that stand out are:
File/Key X \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Users\*****\AppData\Local
File/Key X \Device\VolumeD\Documents

Did you close those paths? If not, then try opening them, see if that makes any difference (Use a new Sandbox for testing purposes).
https://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?OpenFilePath

Also not sure what this is:
*\BaseNamedObjects*\26b8
You can try opening the IPC path for it as well.
https://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?OpenIpcPath

Why do you need to run these games Sandboxed?

hello,

i have the exact same issue.
Barb@Invincea can you test on your own pc with any sandboxed game and any controller just to see if you have also the problem please?
just to be sure if it is a problem from our pc or if it is a general problem (i personnaly think about this option)

thank you

Hi ahah,

This request is out of scope viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24980

However, if you with to provide the results of running the Resource Access monitor (see my previous responses in this thread), and also let us know what happened when you tried my previously provided steps, I will happily take a look to see if anything stands out.

Regards,
Barb.-
