Excel 2007: "The picture is too large and will be trunc

Post by rinrin » Thu Feb 06, 2014 12:10 pm

Windows 7 64-bit
Sandboxie 4.08
Microsoft Excel 2007

Whenever I try to copy a large amount data from Excel, it keeps reporting: "The picture is too large and will be truncated." It doesn't happen when I run it outside the sandbox.

Sometimes I get "SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000002 - EXCEL.EXE [00000102]".

And when I copy really large data, the memory for Sbiesvc.exe shoots up sometimes even reaching 1GB. It goes back to normal after I close Excel or after I clear the clipboard.

The easiest way to duplicate this is to open a new spreadsheet w/ Excel sandboxed. Select all (ctrl+A) and copy.

Or you can try downloading this excel file and open it in a sandbox: http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo ... 13alla.xls

Select all cells and copy. The memory for Sbiesvc.exe will shoot up.

Please fix this. Every once in a while Excel crashes because of this.

This error doesn't come up in my XP machine.

Anyone w/ Windows 7 and Excel 2007 with the same error popping up?

Upon further testing, the errors don't show up w/ Sandboxie 3.76. It shows up only at v4.

No problem here with same specs, only warning Excel-file format...

Thanks deugniet.

May I inquire what other Office 2007 programs you have installed? (Word, Outlook, etc)

Also, what version is your IE? And what's your antivirus?

I'm trying to track this down since it also happens on a netbook w/ Windows 7 32-bit.

Oops. Retried it and now I'm getting these errors too.

Are you also getting the SBIE2203 error or just "The picture is too large...." error?

Thank you for confirming Deugniet.

Just wanted to add that errors still occur with Sandboxie 4.09.

The popup dialog "The picture is too large and will be truncated." has been fixed.

I am not able to reproduce the memory consumption issues in the 4.10 RC. Are you still experiencing this problem?
