Getting this error too, after updating Windows this morning. Presuming that Sandboxie needs to patch?

Same Problem at my systems.

But, after deinstalling MS-patch: KB2898785 from 10./11. dec. 2013

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2898785

the error-message has disappeared.

Tzuk,
I hope it helps to identify the problem with this security-update and you can find a solution, soon.
Have a nice day ...

Just for info, installing MS-patch: KB2898785 on XP does not seem to cause this issue.

Using sbie 4.06

opera,
well, if you mean ...

What system do you use? win xp,vista,7,8,8.1, server 2003,2012,2012R2 - 32 or 64 bit, IE8,9,10,11 - 32 or 64 bit, Sbie 32 or 64 bit?

And why do you mean this? Have you tested it?

I've tested it on some of my systems, and allways the error is not shown again. Same on unpatched systems. There this errer is never shown.

I am saying that on my XP sp3 32bit machine I installed KB2898785 update today and have seen no error message.

I am not saying it doesn't cause the issue on OTHER operating systems.

O.K. opera,

thanks for the detailed information. You are the first in this post with XP.

Are there any other with XP sp3 32bit or 64bit that have installed KB2898785 an see that error.

If installed with no error NtOpenKeyEx, then one could think, this error only occurs above XP, with Vista/7/...

Maybe this helps to isolate the problem.

So now to my Win 7 64bit machine with IE11.

I downloaded Win updates and saw the sbie error message when opening the browser (can still use the browser after clicking away the error)

So I uninstalled KB2898785 rebooted, and can now browse without getting the error message.

It seems that XP is unaffected but anything above this gets the error message.
