So Bo, if that's the case, then why do we need to ENABLE "Drop Rights from Admins....."? You don't enable Drop Rights to keep changes inside the sandbox. Enabling Drop Rights keep programs from doing certain things when they are inside a sandbox. Thats whats for, like for example, programs ...

Changes don't affect your system as they take place inside the sandbox and are kept there until you delete it. Your real system remains intact.

Re: "Shockwave Flash Plug-In" Question

(The only programs I currently allow to run (and connect to the net) in that sandbox are Firefox and Plug-In Container.) If the Shockwave Flash plug-in should be specifically included are there multiple files which need to be added and allowed? Hey Blues, you don't need to allow anything else. Allo...

What are the settings I can do, to make sure installing programs WORKS, yet enough protection to avoid any program leaking from SB into my system? Hi Mozart, a default settings sandbox is more than enough protection when you are trying programs but make sure to disable Drop Rights, otherwise progra...

Re: Want to use Firefox 12 w/noscript and adblock plus-hopel

Hello, I'm using xp sp3 fully patched ......... I find IE 8 lacking alot of the cool addins that Firefox 12 has like no script and adblock plus. Do these programs work well with the latest sandboxie? I am also on XP SP3, NoScript and Adblock plus are my favorite addons. They work as well inside the...

Re: Question about sandbox's and virus's

So what I was thinking is if I get a virus from browsing firefox and don't delete the default sandbox before going and using my banking sandbox could the virus infect and or harm my banking SB or would it still be secure? I've googled and searched this forum but I can't find anything that really an...

Right now, I don't have any scanner installed on my system. When I want to run a scan, I get my light virtualization program going and install whatever the scanner that I want to run or try. Brummelchen, programs like Avira will install and run fine. I know I installed one of the paid ones, unselect...

OK, thank you all for your replies. Last thing: Where do I remove and add back again those compatibility settings? I am totally new to SBIE and don't really know where those settings are. I guess I still need to read through the tutorial and FAQs. :) For all sandboxes: SBIE Control>Configure>Softwa...

Hi John, if you apply software compatibility and you like to revert later, it can be done by clicking remove and OK. When you apply Software compatibility in the window in the picture, it applies to all sandboxes but if you prefer it can also be done only on the ones that you want to. To do so, navi...

It is possible that you have "hidden" messages from being displayed.
You can turn that back by clicking on "Forget hidden messages".

Sandboxie doesn't detect presence of viruses right? How do I deem the software as safe to install on Windows then? Knowing how to do that its really the key to avoid getting infected when using Sandboxie without a real time antivirus but since you just started using Sandboxie, you should use a real...
