My own tests with the Chicago, IL. server, for 3 consecutive download speed checks:
sandboxed:
6822/ 6826/ 6811 kbps

unsandboxed:
6837/ 6768/ 6809 kbps

Sometimes the sandboxed browser shows higher speeds than the unsandboxed browser, depending on Internet congestion at the time.

Have you made any tests of sandboxed vs unsandboxed browser speeds, at a test site like http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Also, does anyone know of any other simpler programs that can be used other than Eraser for the purpose of this workaround? I have Eraser, but I only use it in Windows Explorer. I've had too many times when Eraser would fail without deleting the sandbox contents, usually when deleting 2 sandboxes a...

If I sandbox a Windows Explorer and from there I delete a file in the sandbox content folder appear the file I deleted with 0 bytes. I think that I have this answer correct: A sandboxed program, including Windows Explorer, should not be able to change or delete files outside of the sandbox, unless ...

How did you 2 update from Fx2 to Fx3? If you upgraded your existing Fx install, you may find that an uninstall of Fx followed by a clean install of Fx3 may be necessary. I uninstalled Fx2 and cleaned-out everything I could find (saving a copy of my existing Fx profile folder), then installed Fx3. Of...

I don't know if anyone here can help you by figuring out what is happening with Firefox on your computer. I can only say that when I installed the Fx3 program I first uninstalled Fx2, after saving a copy of the Fx profile folder, and then manually deleted everything that was left behind in the 'Prog...

As I understand it (and I most definitely might be wrong): if the program wants to install a driver - well, it can't do that if the program was installed in a sandbox, so a reboot won't help. If the program wants to install a service and then have it started on a reboot - well, I think you can start...

The default setting in Sandboxie, for deleting the sandbox contents, is the equivalent of using <shift>-Delete. The contents are not sent to the Recycle Bin, so the delete should occur within seconds. How do you judge that it is taking so long?

You can always uncheck Firefox's option to keep History (Tools | Options | Privacy tab), or you can set it to automatically delete browsing history when the browser closes (same tab as above, click on "Private Data" | Settings |check Browsing History, and check "Always clear my private data..."

Strange to say but there was a previous post in which someone had a similar problem in which a Fx3 beta version didn't work right in an empty sandbox. He didn't empty the sandbox after quitting Fx3, and then when he ran it again with the same sandbox it worked for him. There was no resolution, thoug...

I don't know how long you've been using Sandboxie, or if you've made any changes to your Sandboxie configuration, so... Have you tried creating a new sandbox, then (assuming you don't have Firefox forced to run in another sandbox) right-click a shortcut for Firefox and choose "Run Sandboxed". You ca...

Re: Sandboxie and FF3

I get this message each time I open FF sandboxed: "SBIE2102 File is too large to copy into sandbox: Urlclassifier 3sqlite" Are you using Sandboxie v3.26.20? It has been pre-set to avoid copying urlclassifier3.sqlite into the sandbox, and avoid getting that message. http://sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewto...

Ah, I see now that history is what you were referring to. The subject in your original post was cut-off, and only showed "hi" instead of "history". Yes, if you check Sandboxie's setting for Firefox it will allow: OpenFilePath=firefox.exe,%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*\places* to be added to Sa...
