Re: Firefox Bookmarks Lost by Sandboxie

Well you certainly have a lot of settings for DefaultBox, if you rarely sandbox the programs that have their templates listed there. You can try setting DefaultBox to auto-delete contents, and then see if the Firefox problem has been solved. If not then I would rethink having all of those settings t...

Re: Firefox Bookmarks Lost by Sandboxie

I didn't actually see anything wrong with your Sandboxie configuration file, except that I'm not a fan of using just 1 sandbox for everything. Of course, I purchased a registered copy of Sandboxie many years ago, when I got a "lifetime" license, so I can run multiple sandboxes simultaneously. I unde...

Re: Firefox Bookmarks Lost by Sandboxie

When running Firefox sandboxed, click the Firefox menu: Help > Troubleshooting Information Scroll down to "Profile Folder", on the left side of the screen. Does it show that the folder is located where you think it is? Access the "Run" command in Windows: (if your keyboard has a "Windows" key: Win+R...

Re: Firefox Bookmarks Lost by Sandboxie

I'm guessing the bookmark changes I make in the Sandbox are NOT being copied back to the one outside. Thoughts? The file "places.sqlite" also reflects the same date discrepancy. If the bookmarks changes (in the places.sqlite file) were being written outside of the sandbox, you wouldn't even have a ...

Re: Firefox Bookmarks Lost by Sandboxie

All of the top selections under settings are checked, including bookmarks and history. Yet I still lose bookmarks. Do you use a portable version of Firefox? Or, is it possible that your Firefox profile is located on a drive other than C: drive? The templates for Firefox assume that your Firefox pro...

Re: Sandboxie could cause a sandboxed app fail to reset its registry settings

However, in a Sandboxie sandbox, EmEditor can never reset its registry settings. When restarted, it uses the old window size and position, for example. This is the expected behaviour. Sandboxie not only keeps copies of changed files inside of the sandbox, unless an exclusion setting allows them out...

Re: Firefox 60 causes SBIE2205 Error [PLEASE SEE WORKAROUND]

So, previously 3 was too much but now 4 is OK? It may not be related, but after setting a security.sandbox.content.level of 4, and then doing some heavy downloading of videos as a test: I would up with a "Not Responding" Firefox; failure of Sandboxie Control to open it's menu, so I could terminate p...

Re: Firefox Unusable

You may need to change Firefox's "security.sandbox.content.level" from 5, to 2: While running Firefox UN-sandboxed , type: about:config in the address bar. Then, in the "Search" box, start typing: security.sandbox.content.level When you see that entry, double-click on it and change the 5 to a 2 Make...

The method that is built into Sandbox Settings to specify an alternate profile folder location is: Open Sandboxie Control's window; right-click the sandbox that you will use; click on Sandbox Settings. Navigate to Applications > Web Browser > Firefox in the left-hand pane. "Click on "Allow direct ac...

Re: Possible to launch default web browser opening a url, via command line?

Firefox and it's derivatives allow you to place an Internet url at the end of the command line, separated by one space character. I use something like this in a .cmd file with Cyberfox, although you could just replace cyberfox.exe and its path with the name and path to firefox.exe... This would use ...

Re: Google Chrome Update 64.0.3282 does not work in Sandboxie

I updated to Chrome 64.0.3282.119 and also updated all "Components" (chrome://components/). When using Sandboxie's template to force Chrome to run sandboxed it works OK here, with Sandboxie 5.23.3 on 64-bit Windows 10. I have seen a couple of times a message flash on the screen - something about a n...

2. Thunderbird 52.5.2 locks up when trying to add an attachment to an email. This does not happen outside of the sandbox.
I have the same versions of Sandboxie and Thunderbird, on Windows 10, but I cannot duplicate your problem. Attachments to Thunderbird works fine when sandboxed, for me.
