Re: Does and can SBIE4 protect against win32k.sys vulnerabil

Interesting Curt! From a quick look at that Chrome link, it sounds like they're referring to a library checking/validating fonts before finally passing them to Windows...? :? From your post initially, I thought they were completely "handling" fonts themselves (whatever that entails). If just checkin...

Re: Google Chrome Updating

Sandboxie does not "rely" on Windows security. It "uses" many features of Windows security as part of its defenses. I'd say "uses" IS "relies" on. :) Being able to use something is, in fact, relying on it... Features like redirecting file/registry writes into the sandbox are not part of Windows sec...

Re: KMPlayer running outside of SB's Forced Folder

Close enough? ;) "This means that if any program from that folder starts unsandboxed, then Sandboxie will automatically force that program to run in the sandbox." And he meant this page anyway: http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?ForceFolder "If any program in these folders (or in a sub-folder of one...

Re: Google Chrome Updating

Well that was a remote thing, Buster, affecting a component (service I guess?) that wouldn't be running in Sandboxie anyway, so not a very good example. A minor point, but it'd be like using one of the Windows Firewall exploits as an example. yabbadoo, Sandboxie, especially with version 4, uses the ...

Re: Google Chrome Updating

You mean April 8 (or May 1 if counting the out-of-band IE update), officially. :) XP updates are still available for 5 more years (I don't see there being any issues, although they could make them harder to install at some point; trivial change to enable for now). This really is the miracle of our t...

Re: Have you had downloads go outside the Sandbox???

I'd install the latest version, no doubt. :)

So 4.13.2 as of this moment: http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 48&t=19151

That "senseless" fragment is still there...! :?

Re: Memory leak(s), GALORE

Regarding the the Port leak: I see they're called ALPC Ports on Win 7 (64) (in ProcExp and Hacker)... And in Win 7 64 (just Media Center running), Sandboxie is totally idle with just an empty IE 8 window open. 800 ALPC Ports leaked after sitting for just 48 hours! (I knew handles were increasing the...

Re: Sandboxie 4.08 (SbieCtrl) leaking GDI handles and crashe

That's what I'm using. (Everyone so far is...) So you're saying you repeatedly expand/collapse the Active Programs list in Sandboxie Control and GDI Objects for SbieCtrl.exe in Task Manager stays the same?? Like what number...? Don't really have any other updates installed there, but I highly doubt ...

Still happening with 4.13.2. Over 5,000 GDI Objects in Task Manager after expand/collapse for just 3 minutes!

Re: 4t Tray Minimizer template needs updating

Invincea, will you change the Template for 4t Tray? e.g. OpenWinClass=$:4t-tray.exe instead of OpenWinClass=*UtilWindow As the latter unnecessarily opens TONS of windows in other processes as well. Still don't understand why tzuk used that when it seemed like he was confirming the former in the Aug....

nnezz is right Curt. ;) This hasn't been fixed or improved at all. You're telling me you did what I asked about in last post and it's fine? TTF (looped to accelerate effect) + 4t Tray (w/ Compatibility) + sandboxed IE 6 (the more the better)? GuiProxy's memory usage stays "completely flat" when I'm ...

Thanks for the amusing comments guys! :D  (I saw 'em awhile ago, but never logged in to post.) Crypto was running in my main sandbox for 34.5 days with 4.13.1, and all was fine as expected! (So 2 weeks past previous cache/performance degradation.) I assume the whole system would have cr...
