External Theft [SOLVED]

Am I correct in believing that Sandboxie prevents all incoming threats to my PC, but does not apply to outgoing theft ?

Real-time protection is needed to stop outgoing theft of data. Hence the need for an AV-anti-malware protection program.

Error Panel ?

Would somebody kindly tell me what this error panel means ?
I just dismiss it when it pops up. It must mean something.

Re: Sandboxie Border

Thank you Barb for that explicit information.

I can do this -
Open Sandboxie Control panel by right clicking the icon on taskbar.
Show Window > File > Is Window Sandboxed > Finder Tool > drag Finder Tool to window and panel will say if sandboxed

Thank you

Re: Sandboxie Border

Thanks barb. Image 1 shows the blue border on a normal work screen. image 2 shows NO border on the work screen when another program is showing - in this case the Sandboxie Control panel. Work screen border GONE ! When I get rid of the Control panel, the border is still not there on the work screen, ...

Sandboxie Border [SOLVED]

I have a blue border round my sandboxed work screen.
Every time I click another program from the taskbar or even open Sandboxie Control,
this border disappears. I have to click the work screen to bring it back.

Why is this ? Does it mean that I am not Sandboxied when the border disappears ?

Avast Secure Browser

Avast Secure Browser is effectively Google Chrome. The screen layout is identical to my default Chrome browser including the bookmark bar and auto entry of site passwords. I can see no difference and would like to make this browser my default. Problem ! I can open Firefox, Opera and the other deskto...

Re: Spam Emails

I find that most probably Sandboxie in its virtual world is excellent in limiting incoming infections, which just fly around in their virtual cage until killed off on browser shutdown. Sandboxie does not presumably save us from outgoing information theft. Thus simply opening a spam email can release...

Re: Spam Emails

Thank you Barb.

A quicky - Is even opening an email dangerous ? Images or embedded pixels such as MSGTAG and other trackers use immediately trigger information.

With Sandboxie, is it safe to open spam emails ?

Re: Opera 57 not launching sandboxed - [Use -no-sandbox as workaround]

No matter about Opera. I have made Chrome my default browser and am getting on just fine using Sandboxie.
Chrome and Opera are very similar browsers, I will keep with Chrome.

Re: Opera 57 not launching sandboxed - [Use -no-sandbox as workaround]

I have found the ideal solution - Life is good again. Sandboxie opens Chrome like a bullet. No problems. A very sad RIP to a beloved old friend after many years of close companionship - bye, bye Opera. Perhaps in the distant future I will check Opera again, but Chrome is a magnificent browser, very ...

Re: Opera 57 not launching sandboxed - [Use -no-sandbox as workaround]

Here are the two panels, one before adding the "-no-sandbox" and the other after it was added. I tried to open Opera via the Sandboxie icon on my desktop, but no change - just a white screen like before the change. 1. As normal - https://i.imgur.com/d5vKtaV.jpg 2. With "-no-sandbox" added - https://...

Re: Opera 57 not launching sandboxed - [Use -no-sandbox as workaround]

@ Barb@Invincea I added "no sandbox" to the target line in Opera preferences - it made no difference. The problem is Opera. Reason ? Because Chrome and Firefox work instantly with Sandboxie in seconds. So until Opera sort this bug out, all Opera users with Windows 10 will have to find another defaul...
