Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

If you do re-instate fast start to try and find the cause, the only thing I have a vague memory of is having notepad still open with stuff copy and pasted from a sandboxed browser. But as you know, it could be millions of other things !!! I may have used Notepad during the time period in question. ...

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

It's weird because for seven months, SB worked fine, with no issues with the Fast Start.

I'm glad it worked. I think I'm going to reinstate Fast Start and see if it causes the same issue with the RegHive file, or if not, watch for a program or application that triggers it.

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

Ha HA! SUCCESS! I turned off Fast Start, and rebooted. It took a lot longer than usual to start up, but once it did, I was able to right click on the Sandboxie icon, and delete contents. The RegHive file was deleted, and the sandbox it was in. I have no idea what caused it, but at least I have a wor...

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

We have the same build of Windows 10, Sandboxie, and just CCleaner. My other AV/AM software is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit (Paid), Avira AM, and Windows Defender. I also have Foxit PDF reader installed. I read that earlier versions may have had problems. Do you have Foxit? I have not ...

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

No success whatsoever in Terminating Programs. I can get everything out of the DefaultBox folder, except that stubborn RegHive file. I downloaded an unlocking app called DeadLock. No luck there either. The file appears in Locked status, and it won't show me what processes are using it, just "Access ...

It hasn't worked so far, but I'll certainly try it again when I get home.

Any suggestions for a program that can backtrack what process has this RegHive file open?

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

It is not difficult to tell what is running in Sbie. SbieCtrl shows all processes running in the sandbox. You can also use "Is Window Sandboxed?" off the File menu to see if a window is sandboxed. You're right, using the "Is Window Sandboxed?" tool does show if the app is running in a sandbox. Also...

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

I don't think File Assassin was executed sandboxed. I didn't specifically run it as a sandboxed program, and it doesn't have a yellow border, or the hashtags when it starts. The only time that it appears to be running in the sandbox, is when I right-click on the RegHive File, and select "Delete/Unl...

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

First thing I attempted was to use File Assassin to unlock or delete the RegHive file itself. No luck. Got this message box from Sandboxie,..... You need to run File assassin unsandboxed. Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

The problem is on my home PC, and I can't access it at work, but I will try to Terminate Programs, and delete contents again when I can get to it. I'll also try File Assassin on the RegHive file itself. Before, I was attempting to unlock the entire DefaultBox folder. I may have better luck trying to...

Re: Unable to delete contents, object in use

The sandbox was not active, as far as I can tell. I mostly browse with it, occasionally File Explorer opens sandboxed. Those applications were terminated. Everything that is actively running has been terminated. Again, as far as I can tell. I suspect there is a background process running or using Sa...

I ran Process Explorer, but there doesn't seem to be anything running. Sandboxie Error4.PNG I ran Registry Editor, and there are a whole bunch of subfolders under my DefaultBox sandbox.
