Re: Stop email client opening in a sandbox

You could use Start/Run restrictions to allow/disallow programs from running in the sandbox.

Re: run sandboxed instance alongside regular instance ?

Good evening, i have a question regarding sandboxie. I have 2 copies of firefox portable on my pc, two different folders and two different user profiles. .......... Is it possible to run the outdated copy with sandboxie, and keep the updated copy running normally ? Since you were able to install bo...

Re: SbieCtrl.exe crashes after Windows installed updates

Shouldn't Sandboxie offer some kind of protection in these instances? The user essentially doesn't know that they are browsing unprotected in this case. Or does Chrome continue to run Sandboxed despite the failure of SbieCtrl.exe? You were never unprotected. The Sandboxie driver is the one thats in...

Re: Cannot copy and paste text from a sandboxed browser into LibreOffice Writer

So I guess using a sandboxed Libre Writer is a workaround, but it’s kind of convoluted. Not to mention all of your documents are now visible to Firefox, which is not ideal, although you could add another layer of workaround if need be by only copying select documents into the sandbox. Then of cours...

I am not sure what are you referring to. Sandboxie has read access to your files by default, what it does prevent is changes being made to your files/computer without your permission.
Hi Barb, I think he is thinking of protection for his personal files by forbidding access.

Re: Cannot copy and paste text from a sandboxed browser into LibreOffice Writer

3. Open a LibreOffice Writer document (not in a sandbox – open the application normally) 4. Try to right-click and paste the text you just copied to the clipboard. The Paste option will be greyed out, Hi Blinker, I use the Libre portable version. What you describe was not working in an old version ...

Re: No offer to recover downloaded files

Hi Grantonian, if you want Sandboxie to prompt immediately after a download is finished, you need to tick "Enable Immediate recovery" in Sandbox settings>Recovery>Immediate recovery. You also need to add your download folders in Quick recovery, and set Chrome to download to one of the folders you ad...

Re: Can't Delete Contents of Sandbox

How can I tell what's running & why won't Sandboxie stop whatever it is? Thank you, The why. Likely. a security program has a lock on files inside the sandbox at the moment you are closing the sandboxed program. Probably the scanner is scanning when you close the sandboxed program. I see you are us...

Re: Config Check Required For New Sandbox

What was foxing me was that I was expecting the downloads window to be sandboxed but not the case - it is the files within the downloads folder that are sandboxed when opened. I ran a test exe and it installed. Yes, thats te way thats supposed to be. The only thing I dont get a prompt for is immedi...

Re: Config Check Required For New Sandbox

3. If you like to create a shortcut in the Desktop of your Downloads folder, in an unsandboxed Windows explorer, create the shortcut for C/Users/Andy/downloads. Done via windows shell integration of sandboxie application not via normal windows right click shortcut creator Andy, if you like to creat...

Re: Config Check Required For New Sandbox

Hi Andy, to force your Downloads folder and do the rest of tings you want to accomplish, this are the correct steps: 1. In Sandbox settings, set C/Users/Andy/downloads as a forced folder. (You done this already) 2. Set Chrome to download to C/Users/Andy/downloads. (Not done) 3. If you like to create...

Re: Must terminate All programs to restart Firefox

Is there a configuration setting that allows starting Firefox more than once. There are two distinct but, probably, related issues. 1. A second copy can't be started. Workaround, open a new tab and drag it to a new window. 2. After closing Firefox. Firefox can't be restarted. Workaround, execute "T...

Only a reboot freed up whatever was hooking the folder.
Then, perhaps, another scanner, a real time scanner was doing its thing and had a lock on files.

Re: How can I downgrade registered Sanboxie

What version of W10 are you using? If you are using Windows 10 Version 10.0.16299, you could revert to SBIE 5.26. Running over the top means, run the installer as you normally would (to downgrade or upgrade), and in the case of Sandboxie, choose the "Overwrite" option. No need to uninstall, just run...
